We, as a body of believers, believe that Jesus Christ is the only true Son of God, and that in fact was God come to Earth in the flesh. He lived a sinless life on this Earth, then was crucified, paying with His spotless life for all the wrong-doing of mankind. Three days after His death, Jesus rose again proving that He was who He said He was! Now, He sits at the right hand of His Father in heaven, until He comes to take all believers to be with Him for all eternity.
Until that time, He left us a comforter, the Holy Spirit, which inhabits all believers, giving us the strength to carry on in this world until that day when we finally see Jesus face to face. The Spirit also helps us to understand the Bible, God’s work, written by men under the inspiration of that same Holy Spirit.
The Bible says in the book of Romans, chapter 10, verse 13 that “Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” This world is not all that there is to this life. Our personal spirit, which makes you the individual that you are, will only inhabit your body for a brief time compared to all of eternity! There is only one of two destinations for our spirits when this body is used up; heaven or hell. God loves us enough that He gives us a free choice to follow Him or not; to love Him or not; to believe in Him or not; to call on Him or not.
If you decide at this time that it would be wise to seal your future in heaven, then you can call on the Lord right now in the privacy of your home or wherever you are. Here is an example of how easy it is: Dear Lord, I know I’ve done some things wrong in my life, and I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I believe that you died for my mistakes, but you rose again proving you were who you said you were! So Lord Jesus, come into my life, clean me up, help me to live for you, and give me a home in heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
Now, if you did this thing, and you really meant it, even if you don’t feel any different, it doesn’t change the fact that you have been adopted into the family of God! The moment I said “I do” to my bride, I felt no different; but it didn’t change the fact that I was married!
