We are so glad you are considering visiting us at FBC Wayne.
What to expect
We are a small church with a membership of under 200. Our members/attenders range in age from birth to senior adult, with something for everyone to do. We welcome you no matter what color your hair is, how many earrings you have, or even if your hair is on fire. Our motto is to Love Others To Jesus, and that is what we do.
When and where are services?
FBC Wayne (First Baptist Church, Wayne) holds three main services per week. Each service lasts approximately one hour. Small Groups (aka Sunday school) are held on Sunday morning at 9:45 AM, but we would love for you to come early at about 9:00 TO 9:30 AM for donuts, juice, and coffee.
- Small Groups (aka Sunday School) : 9:45 AM
- Sunday Morning Worship Service : 11:00 AM
- Sunday Evening Worship Service : 6 :00 PM
- Wednesday Evening Meal (during school year) 5:30 PM
- Wednesday Evening Worship Service : 6:30 PM
- Team Kids for Grades Pre-K through 5th Grades 6:15 PM
- Catalyst Youth Group for 6th through 12th Grades 6:15 PM
On Wednesday evenings, we serve a free meal in the fellowship hall at 5:30 PM during the school year (snacks at 5:45 PM during the summer). Following the meal we have a Bible Study in the Sanctuary for adults, and the children age birth through 18 (or graduation from high school) have classes suited to their age groups. Wednesday services last approximately one hour.
Do you have a nursery?
Yes, we have an awesome fun nursery with a custom built ark for the little ones to play in. A nursery worker is available during every service, as well as Sunday school.
Will my child be safe in the nursery?
Our nursery is completely baby-proofed and is kept clean. The nursery floors are made of foam padding. Our nursery workers are members of our own church and have had background checks for your peace of mind.
Where do I park?
We have gravel parking lots around three sides of our church, so pretty much anywhere is fine.
What do I wear?
It is rare to see anyone wearing a suit and tie here at FBC Wayne. We dress comfortable. Most wear jeans or pants; t-shirts, or dressier shirts if you wish, dress (if you choose to wear a dress – and if you’re female..). In the summer time, shorts can be worn (modest length please). The main thing is this: wear clothes.
How do I get there?
What do I do when I get there?
FBC Wayne is a small church, so you should be able to find your way in just fine, but just in case – the big metal building is our main sanctuary and fellowship hall. The brick building is our youth room, and our Pastor’s office. More often, the first place that you will want to go is into the big metal building. When you come in, one of our members will greet you and let you know what to do and where to go. If no one sees you, ask for Pastor Rick, Nancy or Mr. Paddock. We’ll be sure you get where you need to be.
What is the Sanctuary, and the Fellowship Hall?
The Sanctuary is the room that we have our Worship Services in on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings. The Fellowship Hall is the room that we eat meals, hang out, and visit with each other. Our Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall are both located in the big metal building.
